Outdoor Lab Endowment Fund

In February 2008, the Outdoor Lab Foundation established the Outdoor Lab Endowment Fund. The fund is held at the Community First Foundation.

The Outdoor Lab Foundation is excited to announce our participation with Community First Foundation’s new online tool GivingFirst (www.givingfirst.org).

GivingFirst is a program of Community First Foundation and was created to be a link between giving and the community. The Web site will enrich donors’ knowledge about the nonprofit sector and encourage charitable giving in metropolitan Denver.

Through GivingFirst, you can read more about the Outdoor Lab Foundation management, finances, and programs in this detailed profile. Giving First helps connect donors with causes they care about by sharing consistent, validated data on metropolitan Denver nonprofits.

Community First Foundation believes this program will encourage philanthropy, recognize the good work of hundreds of area nonprofits, and strengthen the nonprofit sector and the entire community.

To encourage philanthropy, whenever credit card donations to the Outdoor Lab Foundation are made through GivingFirst, Community First Foundation pays the credit card processing fees (through the end of 2008), which typically are three to five percent per gift. This means that 100 percent of gifts made through GivingFirst.org goes directly to the participating nonprofit. What a great way to ensure your full donation goes to your favorite GivingFirst nonprofit.

The Outdoor Lab Foundation profile went live at www.givingfirst.org on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. For the month of April, Community First Foundation is running an additional incentive. The top 30 organizations with the most unique individual donors in the month of April will each receive $1,000. So once you have donated, remember to tell your friends how easy it is to help the Outdoor Lab Foundation.
