After Dark 2020: Get Your Tickets Today!

**Choose Your Comfort Level**

You, your business and your friends and family are invited! This year's After Dark event will be better than ever, even in light of COVID-19. With Marc Sallinger (9NEWS) as our MC, join us for a night of celebration, storytelling, laughter and giving as we gather to support the beloved Outdoor Lab Program.

There are many things to look forward to this year. Leopold Bros. Family Distillers of Fine Spirits has curated a signature cocktail just for the Outdoor Lab program- stay tuned to hear what they've invented.

We are also pleased to announce that Abrusci's Fire and Vine will be returning this year, offering food to both in-person and virtual guests! Last year, people raved about the food offered at After Dark, and Abrusci’s Fire and Vine, a top rated Jefferson County restaurant, was a part of that. More details will follow, but if you purchase a virtual ticket you will receive a discount on a meal kit to make your Outdoor Lab shindig even better at home. Attending in person? You can expect to have some of their famous rigatoni. Abrusci’s Fire and Vine is located in Wheat Ridge and is open for dine in, delivery and carry-out. Check out their menu today!

OLF Chosen as Odell's Summer Charitable Partner

Odell Brewing Company is committed to partnering with charitable programs that serve their communities; they seek organizations that engage their staff and fans in their philanthropic efforts. Odell specifically focuses their efforts in the fields of human services, education and environment. Outdoor Lab Foundation was humbled to hear that we were chosen as their Summer Charitable Partner!

Starting July 1, OLF is featured in both Odell Tap Rooms, located in Fort Collins and Denver's RiNo neighborhood. Odell is helping support the Outdoor Lab program and Foundation through advocacy and financial contributions. Now's Your Chance to Be a Movie Star

Our theme for After Dark 2020 is "Back to Our Roots." We want to remember the essence of Outdoor Lab, of what is so special about Outdoor Lab, and take it back to why the Foundation began in the first place.

To do that, we're seeking alumni to tell their story in one of two formats. The first option is to "star" in a video that will be shown on our social media channels and at After Dark on October 9th. The second opportunity is to tell your story in front of a live audience at After Dark.

Did your Outdoor Lab experience impact your life in a special way that is worthy of storytelling? Please get in touch with us!

Happy Almost 17th Birthday to Outdoor Lab Foundation!

Vitamin D: Do You Get Your Daily Dose?

Who doesn't love a summer birthday? In light of our birthday, we've been reminiscing on the things and people that made us who we are today. Did you know the following about Outdoor Lab Foundation?

  • Full Name: Jefferson County Public Schools Outdoor Education Lab Schools Foundation.
  • Founders: Kathy Weiss and Karen Cravens. They then recruited the first-ever board of directors.
  • The Foundation was founded in 2003.
  • Thanks to Jefferson County Public Schools and Kaplan and Ernst, OLF has a solid grounding and great bylaws.
  • The first dollar ever donated to Outdoor Lab Foundation is currently framed and hanging in the Wheat Ridge office.
Full Story to Come!

Summer in Colorado. It means that the sun is out and we're basking in it, even if not by choice. But did you know that vitamin D is an essential nutrient to the human body? Without it, bones can't absorb calcium, the primary component of the bone.

  •  It may also be helpful in managing or preventing: cognitive health, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, psoriasis and other ailments.
  • How to get it? Supplements or sunlight. The human body makes vitamin D when it converts sunlight into an active form of the vitamin (called calciferol). But sunlight has its own risks associated with it. Supplements can also do the trick, but ask your doctor on the right dose for you.
  • How much do I need? That seems to be debated, and ultimately, is up to you and your doctor.
