Robb Gneiser, the Principal at Windy Peak Outdoor Lab, recently used the phrase "pushing the positive" when discussing the interaction with students at the sites this semester. We resonated deeply with that at the Foundation. Join us for a year-end boost as we find the positive and keep moving forward, even in these uncertain times. We're glad to have you with us. Colorado Gives Day is more than just a day. It’s a movement that inspires and unites thousands of donors to 'give where they live' and support Colorado nonprofits. Coloradans come together with a common goal to strengthen the state’s charities online. This is Colorado's largest community giving movement and since it's inception, has raised a total of $257 million.
Will you choose Outdoor Lab Foundation this year and help us finish the year strong? Your contribution MATTERS because our 7,000 students can’t learn science-based material in the Colorado wilderness without YOU. Together, let's ensure this life-changing program exists for generations to come. Donations start at $5.
Outdoor Lab is more than just a week. It brings adventure and inspires solace, curiosity and self-reliance to all who attend. Those qualities are even more important in 2020, the year of great change. The Outdoor Lab program also allows young leaders in the community to become stewards of the environment and themselves through our internship program. These interns are getting real-life experience even in the midst of a pandemic. "Outdoor Lab has helped me grow my confidence," says one 2020 intern. "Having a full semester, especially during a global pandemic, to learn new skills and work with children is an amazing opportunity that I wouldn’t trade for anything," she continues. ![]() Mount Evans & Windy Peak Site Updates You've already heard: Outdoor Lab looks different this year, but site leaders are working hard to "push the positive" (a quote by a site principal) and make sure that students are getting the best and safest experience possible. High School Leaders and interns have stepped up to lead. Students are studying trees, bird watching, connecting to the great outdoors and practicing using their senses. Sites have also piloted their online curriculum, allowing students at home to engage with the program. At home or at site, the smiles on the students are permanent. Thanks to all of you who help make this happen.
