What we do

The Outdoor Lab Foundation is committed to supporting the Mount Evans and Windy Peak Outdoor Lab schools. Outdoor Lab is a week-long hands-on science experience in a mountain setting. It ignites a fire and passion in all students for STEM education at a pivotal age. The Outdoor Lab schools have been enriching the lives of 6th grade and high school students in Jefferson County for more than 60 years. With more than 6,000 students served each year with over 385,000 alumni, Outdoor Lab is the longest continually running Outdoor Education program in the western United States. Students are immersed in an outdoor academic setting for five days, where they spend their time learning about themselves and how they fit into the world around them.
