Remembering David Greer

Today we want to stop and honor a man that was involved with Outdoor Lab in many ways for many years. His name was David Greer and he was a beloved member of the Outdoor Lab School family. He passed away last July after complications from a stroke. He passed peacefully with his wife and daughters by his side.

Dave Greer was the original secretary of Outdoor Lab Foundation in 2003. He joined as a community member due to his dedication to the Outdoor Lab Program. Each year, Dave would take a week off from his work at Nestle to attend Outdoor Lab with the sixth grade students of Coronado, which is where his wife, Lucy, taught. Dave loved his time at the sites and both schools always looked forward to seeing him. He would call his annual weeks at Outdoor Lab the highlight of his “teaching career”.

Dave is described as a kind, loving and gentle presence, and a beloved member of the Outdoor Lab School Family.
